Downtown Enforcement Unit
The Huntington Park Police Department provides high quality police service to Downtown Huntington Park primarily with deployment of Bike Patrol personnel that operate under the auspices of the Downtown Enforcement Unit (DEU).
Purpose The primary purpose and focus of the DEU is to address quality of life, nuisance, and crime issues affecting Downtown Huntington Park. Bike Patrol personnel are deployed with specific purpose and area responsibility in order to maximize enforcement efforts and effectiveness at combating crime. The Bike Patrol personnel work closely with other units and divisions within the police department in an effort to identify and address crime trends. Additionally, Bike Patrol personnel interact with merchants, the Business Improvement District (BID) and the Chamber of Commerce to develop innovative ways to improve business and public safety. DEU personnel strive to develop positive relations with the public and merchants and are committed to the Huntington Park Police Department motto: “Dedicated to Service Through Excellence in Performance”.
Staff
Bike Patrol personnel include Sworn Police Officers, Reserve Police Officers, Police Cadets, Parking Enforcement Officers and Police Volunteers. DEU operates primarily from the Pacific Boulevard Sub-Station and has the support of all resources of the main police station. The sub-station is located in the busiest area of Downtown Huntington Park and provides a strategic location for Bike Patrol personnel deployment.
