Detective Bureau
The Huntington Park Police Department’s Detective Bureau is managed by a lieutenant and is supervised by four sergeants, each in charge of a specialized unit.
Responsibilities

Detectives conduct follow-up investigation on all crimes reported to the Huntington Park Police Department with the intent of arresting the violators and recovering stolen property.

Investigators may be assigned to:

Crimes of Property (i.e., auto thefts, burglary, forgery, fraud, computer crimes)

Crimes Against Person (i.e., assault, robbery, rape)

Neighborhood Enforcement (under cover operations)

Crime Suppression Unit (narcotics)
Training
Investigators receive intense, specialized training to conduct complicated investigations such as sexual assault, forgery/fraud, and gang related offenses. Unlike many police agencies similar in size and geographical make-up, the Huntington Park Police Department investigates homicides and other major crimes which occur within the jurisdiction of the City of Huntington Park. Investigators work closely with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office to file criminal charges on persons arrested in Huntington Park.
