Records Management
The Huntington Park Police Department maintains records in a computerized Records Management System (RMS). All citations, crime reports, arrest reports and traffic accident reports generated by the police department are entered to the RMS database by the Records Division Staff. Records personnel are responsible for processing all reports and filing packages for the District Attorney’s office. They run all checks for wants, warrants and criminal history information in the California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS). Records clerks are primarily responsible for entering all data to CLETS. Records Clerks are responsible for maintaining all reports, records and files associated with the police department. The Records Division classifies all criminal offenses and compiles statistical information for the Department of Justice (DOJ), where it becomes a part of the National Uniform Crime Report.
Staff
The Records Division at the Huntington Park Police Department is staffed with six (6) full-time non-sworn Police Records Clerks. Staffing is supplemented with part-time police cadets, whose primary function is to attend to the front counter. However, police cadets often assist with the myriad Records Division functions.
