Code Enforcement
Code Enforcement is a uniformed division of the Huntington Park Police Department and enforces ordinances which are designed to maintain a healthy, safe and clean environment; improve living conditions; prevent fire and other accidents; and help maintain property values. Overall, Code Enforcement addresses the “quality of life” issues for the community.
Responsibilities
Code Enforcement is responsible for:

Responding to over 3,000 complaints a year regarding public safety, health and environmental issues, beautification, permits, and licensing enforcement.

Enforcing a multitude of city and state ordinances including Huntington Park municipal codes, building codes, fire codes, electrical codes, and plumbing codes.
Complaints which Code Enforcement responds to can be situations that are an immediate threat to safety of our community such as illegal garage conversions and subdivisions, occupancy violations, hazardous material incidents, building/electrical/plumbing/fire code violations and many more.
Code Enforcement plays a major role in improving and maintaining the beautification and cleanliness in our city including the following examples:

Why Should I Call?
Many times the quality of life issues that you see and live with are not visible to us. You can call us and leave your complaint but we must have the street address and the type of violation you are reporting. For better results, we highly recommend that you leave us a call back number since there will be times that the violation is not present or visible to us. You will remain anonymous but we need to have your phone number or e-mail so we can contact you for more information if needed.
