Welcome to the Department of Parks & Recreation. The department offers a wide range of recreational classes and activities; youth and adult sports leagues; youth programs; and open park and athletic facilities.

News and Notes Tennis     

  • The deadline to register for Youth Basketball is October 19, 2014.  Participants will learn fundamental basketball skills such as shooting, dribbling and passing in an all-inclusive environment geared for all skill levels.  Participants will also have the opportunity to learn life skills such as teamwork, responsibility, commitment and good sportsmanship.  Click here for all of the details.
  • Calling All Toddlers!  The City of Huntington Park is excited to offer a variety of toddler classes this fall.  Toddler classes teach basic pre-school skills, build self-confidence and cognitive development, stimulate creativity and socialization with other children.  Follow the link for Tiny Tots, or Creative Little Hands, Pee Wee Sports, Little Munchkins or Start Right to learn more about these fun-filled classes.
  • The City of Huntington Park will host its 1st Annual Quinceañera and Wedding Expo in February 2015 at Salt Lake Park.  If you are interested in sponsorship or vendor opportunities, please contact Recreation Specialist Janie Loera at , or by phone at (323) 584-6218.
  • The Huntington Park Community Center will host the annual Senior Halloween Dance on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The event is open to all seniors.  This annual party will have a combination of costume contests, raffles, games, dancing and prizes. It is also a great way to meet and mingle with other senior citizens in the community.
  • The City of Huntington Park is hosting senior trips to the Spotlight Casino (September 4), Agua Caliente Casino (October 30), and Fantasy Casino (November 20).  The bus for each trip departs at 7:30 a.m. and returns at 6:00 p.m.  For more information, contact the Huntington Park Community Center for more information at (323) 584-6352.
